The Development department is an integral component of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF), whose purpose is to raise vital unrestricted funds to advance EGPAF’s mission to end AIDS in children and to ensure every child has a full and healthy life. This dynamic team secures funding through annual campaigns, major gifts, funding partnerships, digital engagement, events, and more.
The Individual Major Gifts Officer will provide critical support to meet the fundraising goals of a fast-paced Development department, focusing on fundraising initiatives of individual donors that give at the level of $500 or above annually. The ideal candidate will collaborate with internal teams, leadership, and board members to align donor interests with organizational priorities, maintain accurate records in the CRM, and track progress toward goals.
The position plays a critical role in donor retention, growth, and long-term sustainability of the individual major donor base.
- Support the EGPAF Individual Major Gifts program to build and maintain a strong donor pipeline, managing relationships and securing support from donors who can make gifts of $500 and greater.
- Collaborate with the Sr. Manager of Individual Major Gifts to develop, cultivate, and manage a pipeline of high net-worth donors for the organization. This includes solicitation, cultivation, and stewardship strategies for the overall Development department.
- Support cultivation and stewardship events for major donors.
- Manage systems and software to track and cultivate donors and prospects, including our donor Salesforce database and Donor Search wealth screening tool.
- Assist with the strategizing, creation, and management of high-net-worth individual events and peer-to-peer opportunities including but not limited to:
- Individual stewardship events, network leveraging opportunities, donor circles, lunch n’ learns, etc.; with support from the Sr. Manager and other Development team staff.
- Manage the day-to-day functions of EGPAF’s Planned Giving program to build a legacy society for the organization and accompanying donor benefits. Work jointly with the Senior Manager of Individual Major Gifts and the VP to recommend and engage prospective legacy members.
- Work alongside Development team to collaborate with EGPAF’s team responsible for external engagement and communications in their development of integrated communications and marketing that support donor stewardship and cultivation touchpoints.
- Coordinate donor recognition opportunities.
- 5 years of relevant progressive development experience preferred, with the ability to show results from past individual giving and/or event fundraising experience in the non-profit sector.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience with donor databases is required;
Salesforce experience preferred. - Familiarity with all facets of development and a demonstrable understanding of how to engage with existing and prospective high-net-worth individual donors and other philanthropic partners.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, along with direct experience working effectively across organizational and functional roles within a non-profit.
- Comfort managing concurrent priorities in a dynamic and collaborative organization.
- Experience with global health, healthcare, HIV/AIDS or children’s causes a plus.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office.
- Experience in Washington, DC, NYC and LA donor markets preferred.
- Ability to travel within the U.S. to events for donor engagement.
The expected salary range for this position is $53,733-$67,166 annually in the Washington, D.C. Metro area.
