Description:
The Food Resources department is integral to CAFB’s mission. The Food Sourcing Coordinator will oversee our retail food recovery program, Partner Direct. This program facilitates donation relationships between partner agencies and retail/food industry donors. The role will lead partnerships, ensure program compliance, and support growth as CAFB navigates recovery and rebuilding phases of the response. The position requires high attention to detail, tracking donations, and creating/disseminating reports for internal and external audiences, in collaboration with key stakeholders to meet annual goals.
Program Coordination – 60%
- Initiate, support, adjust, and troubleshoot individual partnerships between agencies and donors
- Plan for and conduct at least two to four site visits per week to establish or refresh partnerships and resolve challenges
- Provide training, onboarding, and technical support to prospective, new, and existing Partner Direct agencies
- Use the Meal Connect platform to track program data and integrate it into the ERP system (Net Suite)
- Field large-scale donation offers and coordinate partner agency donation acceptance as needed
Monitoring/Compliance + Program Growth – 20%
- Monitor and enforce mandatory reporting from partner agencies
- Follow and enforce standard operating procedures
- Provide donation data to donors and Feeding America as needed
- Work with the Food Resources Manager to analyze program data, identify opportunities to improve and expand the program, and implement strategic opportunities
- Identify and close programmatic and reporting gaps
Administrative: 20%
- Process, track, and analyze intake forms and other paperwork associated with donations, using the CRM and data analytics tools
- Maintain and distribute accurate and timely reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare purchase orders and process weekly payments as needed
- Collaborate with other divisions of the Food Resources team and CAFB departments
Requirements
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills; comfort with enforcing policies and navigating difficult conversations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); comfortable with databases
- Extremely organized and meticulous with details
- Excellent project management skills, strong follow-through, and ability to prioritize
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Passion for food access and food rescue/waste prevention
- Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
Physical activities involve sitting for 80% or more of the workday. Occasionally lift office supplies up to 20 pounds.
Reporting- Food Sourcing Senior Manager
- $50,000 - $53,800 annually
- Hybrid schedule available
- Regular site visits required with comfort navigating within the DC metro area
- Regular work hours Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm; weekends or extended hours for special events
- Normal office environment, primarily at DC headquarters. Willingness to travel to stores across the DMV with either a personal or CAFB vehicle. May respond to infrequent weekend and evening technical emergencies. Mon–Fri, 8:30 am–5:00 pm; extended when necessary.
