Overview
Sr Marketing Manager – Government, Workplace & Community at HGA is a high‑impact role for a strategic marketing leader who thrives on vision, execution, and team inspiration. This dynamic senior marketing manager will guide the national marketing strategy for our Workplace, Government, and Community practices, influencing brand direction, elevating market presence, and leading a talented team within one of the nation’s most respected architecture and engineering firms.
HighlightedKey Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the annual marketing strategy and plans to achieve national sector business goals and align with overall firm goals.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor positioning, and client needs to inform marketing strategy and storytelling.
- Establish the national sector brand message framework under the umbrella of the overall HGA brand to distinguish us from competition and address client needs.
- Oversee a wide range of marketing activities—including branding, collateral development, communications, sponsor ships, client events, digital marketing campaigns, awards, photography/video, and more—collaborating with national marketing & communications colleagues.
- Manage sector‑related marketing budgets and ensure ROI on key initiatives.
- Guide principals and business developers in creating and executing individual marketing plans, setting goals, identifying targets, and tracking metrics.
- Lead a team of sector marketing coordinators, driving excellence, oversight, and business development support.
- Ensure consistency and quality across all sector marketing activities, driving visibility and engagement with key clients and stakeholders.
- Ability to critically analyze, synthesize, and manage complex strategic and tactical projects with multiple partners.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing integrated marketing strategies.
- Strong research, analytical, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Comfortable with public speaking and thought leadership.
- Experience working with technical teams and translating complex services into client value.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and matrixed environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing people & processes across a company of comparable scale.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Architecture, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in marketing or business development, with at least 3 years focused on the architecture, engineering, or construction (AEC) or other professional service industry.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Deltek Vantagepoint).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat/Reader, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
- Marketing generalist with exposure to and experience with a wide range of marketing activities.
- Strong understanding of the strategy, process, and messaging for pursuits, RFPs, and client interviews, and demonstrated collaboration with business development.
- Ability to work independently, self‑starter, and self‑starter, capable of multitasking workload to meet deadlines.

Salary InformationSalary range: $109,000 – $138,800 (adjustments made for geography). Actual compensation is based on work experience, education, licensure requirements, and skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA’s robust benefit programs, including annual bonus, success sharing bonus, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental, life insurance plans, PTO, short‑ and long‑term disability programs.
