Network Engineer

Description

Leidos is seeking a Network Engineer to work on-site in support of the Civil Rights Division in Washington, DC. The Network Engineer functions in a high-level position with regard to major systems installations and requirements.

• Analyzes the system needs for especially large and complex litigation support requirements.
• Recommends overall hardware, software, and telecommunications solutions.
• Identifies technologies, designs and implements overall system solutions, including procuring hardware, software, and communications devices, installing and integrating them, testing and troubleshooting.
• Develops user training and comprehensive system configuration documentation and documents procedures.
• Establishes and enforces appropriate system and data security measures, including firewalls and disaster recovery systems.
• Designs protocols for overall system operation and maintenance.
• Researches, designs, and integrates innovative technical solutions to litigation support needs.

• Bachelor s degree (or equivalent) and 8+ years of related experience.
• Demonstrated success in analyzing user requirements and delivering whole system solutions (e.g., 175 Servers, 4 Physical sites, and 70 Switches), including hands-on experience with procuring, installing, and integrating complex information systems.
• Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
• Hands-on experience with:
  Network patch and fiber cabling (SC and LC);
  Cisco;
  Aruba OS/Aruba wireless;
  Aruba Airwave; VOIP infrastructure;
  Network hardware/software;
  Zscaler.

• Hands-on knowledge and use of:
  Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6a.
• Campus management that encompasses multiple sites and multiple vendors.
• Extreme switches.
• Monitoring performance and maintaining uptime with various software tools.
• Wireshark, Putty, Solar Winds NTA/NPM/NCM/Dameware.
• Firewall requests and TIC access.
