OverviewLaunch your leadership career with our Custodial Manager in Training (MIT) Program—a hands-on, rotational experience designed for recent graduates and early-career professionals eager to grow in facilities management. Over the course of six months, you’ll gain the skills, confidence, and exposure needed to step into an Assistant Director role upon completion. This program combines classroom learning, field training, and stretch assignments in a people-first organization.
Responsibilities/ What You’ll Do
- Participate in a six‑month rotational program to learn operations, lead teams, and master the business fundamentals of running a custodial program.
- Shadow custodians and supervisors, lead small teams and projects, practice scheduling and inspections, and advance to acting supervisor responsibilities.
- Engage in stretch assignments such as leading shifts during large-scale events, conducting quality inspections, and developing labor schedules.
- Develop supervisory skills in scheduling, labor allocation, performance management, conflict resolution, and client interactions.
- Build knowledge in budgeting, KPI tracking, reporting, and overall operational readiness.
- Adaptable, people‑focused leaders who thrive in dynamic environments and are ready to grow.
- Strong communication skills with frontline teams, leadership, and clients.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities related to scheduling and budgeting.
- Evidence of leadership potential and willingness to travel/relocate for career growth.
- Timeline:
Months 1–2 – shadow;
Months 3–4 – lead small teams;
Months 5–6 – assume acting supervisor responsibilities and exposure to Director-level activities. - Stretch assignments include leading a shift, conducting quality inspections, and delivering safety trainings.
- Completion criteria: mastery of 80–90% of operational and leadership competencies with positive evaluations; promotion to Assistant Director roles upon successful program completion.
