Position: Dog Daycare Manager DC

Dog Daycare Manager
District Dogs Shaw LLC – Washington, DC (or any of our locations — whichever is most convenient for you!)

At District Dogs, we believe every pup deserves a place where safety, structure, and fun come together. Our team delivers exceptional care and service every day — creating a space where dogs thrive and pet parents feel confident.

We’re looking for a Dog Daycare Manager who can lead by example, run a smooth and happy floor, and inspire a team to deliver the high standards that define District Dogs.

What the Day-to-Day Looks Like
  • Lead Daily Operations: Oversee the daycare floor from open to close — managing staff, supervising playgroups, and ensuring every pup and parent has a great experience.
  • Coach and Develop Your Team: Train, schedule, and motivate daycare attendants. Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and pride in doing things the right way.
  • Keep Dogs Safe: Enforce safety and temperament protocols, monitor playgroup dynamics, and handle any incidents with professionalism and care.
  • Engage with Pet Parents: Build trust with clients through clear communication, timely follow-up, and a compassionate approach to customer service.
  • Stay Organized: Maintain accurate records, behavior notes, and daily reports. Precision and consistency keep the operation running smoothly.
  • Solve Problems Calmly: Respond to emergencies or unexpected situations with good judgment and composure — you’re the calm in the chaos.
  • Maintain Standards: Ensure a spotless, well-organized environment. Cleanliness and structure reflect the quality of care our brand stands for.
Who We’re Looking For
  • You’ve led people before — in a dog daycare, kennel, grooming salon, vet clinic, or similar setting.

  • You understand canine behavior and group management.

  • You’re calm, reliable, and confident making decisions in a fast-paced environment.

  • You communicate clearly with both staff and clients.

  • You hold yourself and your team to high standards of safety, cleanliness, and professionalism.

  • You’re hands‑on, active, and comfortable lifting, cleaning, and moving throughout the day.

Preferred Backgrounds
  • Supervisory or management experience in pet care, hospitality, or customer service.

  • Experience with dog daycare software or scheduling systems.

  • Proven ability to train and motivate a team in a high-volume environment.

Perks and Pay
  • Competitive salary based on experience

  • Paid sick leave

  • Free daycare for your own dog

  • Opportunities for career growth across District Dogs locations

  • Flexibility to work at multiple locations if desired
