Job Description Summary
Assistant Program Director, Relocation Services – This position is part of GW’s Facilities, Planning and Construction Management Division. It schedules and plans user moves, coordinates logistical activities, finances moving services, and ensures compliance with move schedules and space management.
Relocation Services maintains GW’s property and grounds on all three campuses and requires coordination with project managers, contractors, and property management companies for construction and off‑campus moves.
Responsibilities- Schedule and plan user moves, coordinating all associated logistical activities with customers.
- Solicit and evaluate contractor proposals for moving services.
- Obtain authorizing signatures to commit departmental or project funds to cover moving costs.
- Coordinate move schedules with project managers and general contractors for construction‑related moves and ensure pre/post‑move activities are addressed.
- Coordinate building and elevator access issues with property management companies for off‑campus moves into leased property.
- Follow up with users to ensure appropriate arrangements made regarding move‑related changes in signage, keys/locks, telephone, and data connectivity.
- Develop box inventories and tracking systems where appropriate.
- Supervise moves during evenings and weekends as required.
- Provide information on changes in space utilization to the university’s space management staff for entry into the University’s Space Inventory System.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study.
- Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience substitutable for degree requirements.
- Ability to work evenings/weekends.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong project management, vendor coordination, communication, and customer service skills.
