About The Engineering Manager Position

A little taste of your day-to-day
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

• Perform maintenance and repairs for assigned area(s) such as the interior and exterior of buildings, hotel rooms and contents, laundry and kitchen/refrigeration equipment, lighting, heating, air conditioning (HVAC), ventilation, and water treatment systems
• Take responsibility for the safety and cleanliness of areas inside and outside of the hotel
• Follow the preventative maintenance calendar and look for new ways to improve our guests’ experiences
• Ensure that assigned equipment is prepared and operational for the following day’s work
• Adhere to federal, state and local regulations concerning safety or other compliance requirements, as well as brand standards and local policy and procedures to ensure quality, safety, and consistency. Report all unsafe conditions or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor
• May educate and train hotel staff in the safe and proper use of equipment
• May also perform other minor maintenance and repairs and/or conduct preventative maintenance duties as needed

• Specialized knowledge and skills or certification within a field or discipline such as plumbing, electrician, carpentry, equipment mechanics, HVAC, refrigeration, etc.
• Reading and writing abilities are utilized in order to document or record all tasks completed, to order supplies, to receive their instructions for the day and/or to read equipment repair manuals
• Mathematical skills, including basic math, percentages, quantities, and variances
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, a building management program and/or any other reporting tools like Hot Sos, Opera and Bartech
• A reasonable level of fitness – you’ll be on your feet most of the day, and will need to bend and kneel a lot
• Great communication skills, you’ll be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to

Salary
:
The salary range for this role is $80,000.00 to $90,000.00. This range applies to jobs performed in Washington, DC. Pay may be higher or lower and may be modified in the future. A employee’s pay position within the range will be based on factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs.
