The Residential division includes properties such as The Waycroft (Arlington, VA), Park Van Ness (Washington, DC), The Kennedy-Warren (Washington, DC), Lyon Place (Arlington, VA), The Milton at Twinbrook Quarter, and coming soon Hampden House (2025). Opportunity
Lead Engineer is responsible for performing various tasks including split system heat pump repairs, building maintenance, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, cleaning, and other duties as assigned. The rate for this position is $44.68 per hour and is based on experience. This is a non-exempt position that will be compensated for overtime. Under the direction of the Director of Engineering, the Lead Engineer will be responsible for maintaining the property and providing superior customer service to all residents.
Responsibilities- Perform split system heat pump repairs, building maintenance, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, cleaning, and related tasks.
- Maintain the property to ensure high standards of resident satisfaction.
- Respond to maintenance requests, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs as needed.
- Lead and train a maintenance team; delegate tasks and monitor performance.
- Ensure safety and compliance with applicable regulations and company policies.
- Attend to property operations in a 24/7 community; weekend or overnight hours may be required.
- Five or more years of engineering experience with strong customer service skills.
- High school diploma (or equivalent).
- Ability to lift 60 lbs. and safely move appliances; comfortable working at heights up to 25 feet.
- Experience leading a team and training team members.
- Experience in multifamily or hospitality environments preferred.
