Paralegal

— The Opportunity —

Paralegal position with CACI for the Department of Justice’s Radiation Exposure Compensation Program (RECA). The role focuses on administering the RECA Call Center, answering applicant inquiries on the 1-800 line, and interpreting RECA statutory regulations.

CACI supports growth through tuition reimbursement for eDiscovery and Paralegal certifications. This position offers career advancement within the company.

— Responsibilities —

Collaborate with the DOJ legal team and perform administrative‑law tasks in the RECA Call Center. Responsible for:

  • Compiling, preparing, and summarizing relevant materials for attorneys
  • Maintaining case files
  • Performing simple legal/factual research
  • Indexing, tracking, and controlling case‑related materials, including claimant files
  • Reviewing documents for legal sufficiency per established guidelines
— Qualifications —
  • Paralegal certificate, JD, or active attendance in an ABA‑accredited law school with at least one year of study (or equivalent: one year legal training or two years of college education)
  • Minimum one year litigation paralegal or project experience related to the task order
  • Basic legal knowledge, including standard citation, and proficiency with research tools (Lexis, Westlaw)
  • Excellent written and oral communication, advanced computer skills (Word, databases, spreadsheets, imaging, hardware)
  • Familiarity with ESI tools, eDiscovery procedures, and resources
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high‑quality work under pressure
  • US citizenship (DOJ MBI must be obtainable)
— Desired —
  • Automated legal support experience
  • Advanced computer and database expertise (MS Excel, Word)

This position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately. Candidates may also be considered for other CACI positions.

— Pay Range —

Compensation meets or exceeds the SCA minimum based on the DOL wage determination. Salary varies with location, experience, and qualifications. Benefits include healthcare, wellness, financial, retirement, family support, education, and paid time off.
