CACI is seeking a Senior Paralegal to support the Department of Justice’s mission. This position plays a critical role and involves working on high‑profile cases. The role requires the ability to work in Washington, DC, with duties focused on litigation support in preparation for upcoming trials. The Senior Paralegal works closely with federal prosecutors supporting the Market, Government Consumer Fraud Unit in a fast‑paced setting, assisting in the investigation and prosecution of various matters, including witness interviews, deposition preparation, and in‑courtroom trial support.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare a variety of substantive legal documents, including subpoenas, notices of deposition, interrogatories, document requests, garnishments, and applications for writ of execution. Draft documents for review and approval by Assistant U.S. Attorneys, then process and follow up upon approval.
  • Review and maintain an inventory of documents and other materials produced pursuant to subpoena or other discovery requests.
  • Use automated research tools and public information databases to research the financial background of a debtor and the case.
  • Prepare discovery-related documents such as discovery letters, production logs, privilege logs, deposition lists, and digests, applying a thorough knowledge of the Federal Rules of Evidence and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
  • Provide litigation case management and organize cases by preparing and organizing discovery and exhibits.
  • Maintain regular contact with applicable federal agencies to ensure compliance with department‑wide directives regarding financial litigation.
  • Monitor the progress of pending cases and initiate action to ensure that legal pleadings, forms, reports, correspondence, and other documents are prepared and submitted within established deadlines; keep appropriate staff informed about case status.
  • Compile, organize, and index discovery and evidence exhibits and witness testimony.
  • Perform administrative duties in support of the Unit.
  • Use established databases to perform data searches, report design, and other data retrieval assignments.
Qualifications
  • Paralegal certificate, JD, or enrollment in an ABA‑accredited law school with at least one year of study (or equivalent education).
  • At least two years of litigation paralegal experience, including one year in automated litigation support.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with a sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.
  • Thorough knowledge of LEXIS and Westlaw.
  • Hands‑on familiarity with computer applications, including word processing, databases (document review, file management systems), spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems.
  • Familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources.
  • Ability to consistently deliver high‑quality work under extreme pressure.
  • Must be able to obtain DOJ MBI clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
Pay Range

This posting is for a position covered by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCA). The pay and benefits provided will meet or exceed the minimum required amounts detailed in the wage determination issued by the Department of Labor for this position. The minimum required hourly wage is $31.69
. Salary is influenced by location, experience, skills, education, and certifications.
