A law firm seeks a mid-level Commercial Litigation Associate to join its Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of complex litigation experience and a keen interest in high-level insurance coverage litigation and dispute analysis.
Duties- Draft complex case evaluations, pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.
- Manage all aspects of litigation from inception through trial and appeal.
- Conduct legal research and write memoranda.
- Handle discovery processes, including documents, written discovery, and depositions.
- Collaborate with clients, witnesses, experts, and other counsel.
- Analyze insurance coverage and extra-contractual disputes, drafting coverage opinions or analyses.
- 4-6 years of complex litigation experience required.
- Experience with insurance coverage litigation is a strong plus.
- Interest in emerging risks in insurance and environmental and products liability litigation required.
- Must be licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia and in good standing.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia.
- Exceptional writing and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, networking, and business development skills.
- Effective communication with colleagues, clients, adversaries, and courts.
