A prominent law firm is seeking a Labor and Employment Attorney for a non-partnership track, salaried position in its Washington, DC office. This role is designed for a legal professional with a strong background in employment litigation and client counseling. The position offers a reduced billable hour requirement and full benefits, making it ideal for experienced attorneys looking to focus on substantive work in a balanced environment.
The attorney will be expected to manage litigation independently, engage directly with clients, and advise on a broad range of employment-related matters.

DutiesManage employment litigation cases from inception through resolution
Draft motions and legal memoranda; argue motions in court
Negotiate with opposing counsel and manage case strategy
Provide direct client counseling on employment law matters
Maintain and manage litigation dockets and deadlines
Support clients with compliance and risk mitigation strategies
Engage in occasional work related to traditional labor and labor-management relations (a plus)
RequirementsMinimum of 5 years of experience in employment litigation and counseling
Extensive litigation background with the ability to manage cases independently
Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills
Client-first mindset with the ability to provide clear, strategic advice
Comfortable managing deadlines and communicating with both clients and opposing counsel
Experience in traditional labor law or labor-management relations is a plus
EducationJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
CertificationsAdmission to the District of Columbia Bar preferred at time of hire
Must obtain DC Bar admission within one year of employment if not currently admitted
SkillsLitigation and case management expertise
Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
Strategic legal thinking and decision-making ability
Effective client communication and counseling
Negotiation and dispute resolution capabilities
