Feldesman LLP is seeking a seasoned attorney to join our Washington, DC office and work closely with mission‑driven clients, gain hands‑on experience, and take on meaningful responsibilities within a collaborative and entrepreneurial team environment. This senior role will advise federally qualified health centers (FQHCs), behavioral health organizations, federal grantees, and nonprofit providers on regulatory strategy, risk management, and operational compliance.
We are looking for an attorney with a strong foundation in health care regulatory law and transactional experience. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the legal frameworks governing publicly funded health and human service programs (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, and HHS‑administered grants) and have experience drafting and negotiating contracts that comply with federal program requirements. Experience with drafting comments on NPRMs and analysis of legal changes in the federal health care system is a plus as the Firm represents a number of State and National associations and routinely advises on policy issues.
Key Responsibilities- Draft, review, and negotiate health care‑related agreements, including: professional services agreements, employment agreements, affiliation and joint venture agreements.
- Conduct legal research and advise clients on health care regulatory compliance, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement rules, fraud and abuse laws, corporate governance issues, and changing law and policy.
- Stay current on evolving federal health care regulations and policy developments.
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active DC bar license (preferred) or eligibility to waive in.
- Minimum 8 years of health care experience (law firm, government, or in‑house).
- Proven track record advising health care organizations on federal compliance.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- High ethical standards and commitment to client service.
- Excellent legal writing, research, and communication skills.
- Commitment to supporting safety‑net providers.
- Willingness to travel up to 25 %.
- Must be available to work in‑person at our Washington, DC office.

The good faith base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $185,000 per year. The actual salary rate offered to candidates within that range will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, years of relevant experience, education, and the candidate's overall qualifications for the position as assessed by the Firm.
