OverviewThe Supreme Court Police is a federal law enforcement agency. The department enforces Federal and District of Columbia laws and regulations, and protects the Supreme Court Building and grounds as prescribed by the Marshal and approved by the Chief Justice. The mission is to protect the Supreme Court, Justices, employees, guests, and visitors, preserving the Constitutional Mission of the Supreme Court of the United States.
Basepay
$83,362.00/yr - $/yr
Base pay range is provided by the Supreme Court of the United States Police. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.
ResponsibilitiesThe Supreme Court Police are responsible for providing a full range of police services, including:
- Protection of the Supreme Court Building and grounds, and persons and property therein;
- Dignitary Protection for the Supreme Court Justices, both domestically and internationally;
- Maintain order and decorum within the Supreme Court Building and grounds, including policing demonstrations and large-scale events;
- Provide residential security for the protectees of the Supreme Court of the United States;
- Prepare incident, found property, accident, and arrest reports, and testify in court as needed.
Specialty Units are available to officers depending on time-in-service, training, and experience. These units may include both part-time and full-time roles:
- Dignitary Protection Unit
- K-9 Unit
- Background Investigations Unit
- Nuclear, Biological, Chemical (NBC) Team
- Recruitment Division
- Police Operations Center - Dispatch
- Physical Security Unit
- Liaison positions with partner agencies (FBI, JTTF, DHS, USCP)
- Training Unit
- Honor Guard
- Instructors in Firearms, Driving, Defensive Tactics, CPR/First Aid
