JOB SUMMARY The Discovery Units (DU) provide high-quality litigation and e-Litigation support to units within the Office of the General Counsel. They respond to a full range of requests for information maintained by the FBI in any location or format.

Additionally, they support the Office of Equal Employment Opportunity Affairs, the Office of Professional Responsibility, the Human Resources Division, the Security Division, and field offices nationwide in a variety of administrative matters. The DUs locate material responsive to requests, conduct a privilege review, and redact the information prior to release outside of the FBI. These requests pertain to litigation and administrative matters in which the Bureau is directly or indirectly involved, including: civil lawsuits, Equal Employment Opportunity matters both at the complaint stage and the administrative hearing level, Merit Systems Protection Board complaints, administrative claims, personnel matters, and criminal discovery.

KEY REQUIREMENTS
* Must be a U.S. citizen
* Must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance MAJOR DUTIES
* Conducts research and locate all FBI material responsive to requests.
* Conducts legal privilege review using document redaction software.
* Manages technical aspects of projects and troubleshoots technical issues.
* Analyzes and interprets discovery requests.
* Establishes relevant case guidelines.
* Ensures discovery deadlines are met.
* Effectively communicates with case team and requesters GS-11 In addition to the above duties:
* Serves as case manager over increasingly more complex and difficult discovery requests.

Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS9 grade level. SE is defined as follows:
* Experience performing complex legal research an analysis of legislative history, precedent case law, decision and opinions.

* Conduct research and analysis of legislative history, precedent cases, decisions, and opinions that may be applicable to particular legal matters.
