Legal Counsel, Lawyer
DLA Piper seeks an antitrust lawyer with 8+ years’ experience in Hart-Scott-Rodio Act filings to join its Antitrust & Competition Group. The role focuses on supporting transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures, with an emphasis on preparing HSR filings and understanding global merger control processes. Candidates should have substantial experience preparing HSR filings; governmental experience is preferred.
Responsibilities- Communicate with clients.
- Supervise associates.
- Collaborate with experts to develop case strategy, assist in fact‑development and depositions, and draft discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda.
- Superior research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to multi‑task, prioritize, and manage projects with attention to detail.
- JD from an accredited law school.
- 8+ years of direct, applicable AmLaw 100 firm experience.
- Admission to the bar in the jurisdiction of application.
Open to all US offices; preferred locations are Washington, DC;
New York; and Philadelphia.
- Effectively communicate with clients, lawyers, and business professionals.
- Produce high‑quality deliverables and respond to correspondence efficiently.
- Meet deadlines and perform work duties as required.
- Comply with all firm policies and foster positive work relationships.
- Manage competing demands in a fast‑paced environment.
Sedentary work with occasional light lifting. Regular computer use and remote participation in video conferences.
Work Environment- Hybrid schedule: regular in‑office presence with some work‑from‑home flexibility.
