The paralegal position is an excellent position for a motivated individual looking for an opportunity to grow within CACI. In this role, you will work collaboratively with the Department of Justice legal team assigned to the Radiation Exposure Compensation Program ("RECA"). Paralegals will work exclusively performing administrative law related assignments in the RECA Call Center. You will be answering questions from RECA applicants who call the RECA 1-800 line and interpreting regulations pertaining to the RECA statute.

Responsibilities:
As a CACI Paralegal supporting the DOJ's mission, you will gain invaluable knowledge and transferrable skills related to eDiscovery practice and procedures and utilizing document databases to conduct searches and code evidentiary material. In this role, you will work collaboratively with the Department of Justice legal team assigned to the Radiation Exposure Compensation Program ("RECA"). Paralegals will work exclusively performing administrative law related assignments in the RECA Call Center.
You will be answering questions from RECA applicants who call the RECA 1-800 line and interpreting regulations pertaining to the RECA statute. You will be a part of a high-performing team completing assignments with established procedures that include:
* Compiling, preparing, and summarizing relevant materials for use by attorneys
* Maintaining case files.
* Performing simple legal and/or factual research.
* Indexing, tracking and controlling case related materials (including claimant related files).
* Reviewing documents for legal sufficiency according to established guidelines and criteria.
Qualifications:
Required:
* This position requires paralegal certificate, JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study. One year of legal training or legal experience or at least two years of college education may be substituted for the paralegal certificate.
* Additionally, at least one year of litigation paralegal experience or project experience (as related to the task order) is required.
* Must have basic legal knowledge, including knowledge of standard legal citation to cite check legal motions and memorandum and must have sufficient experience with legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw to perform basic legal research.
* Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, thorough knowledge and hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems.
* Role also requires basic familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources.
* Demonstrated attention to detail is paramount.
* Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very important.
* DOJ MBI must be obtainable (US Citizenship required).
Desired:
* Automated legal support experience valued.
* Extensive computer and database expertise (MS Excel and Word skills necessary).
This position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately. However, this position is representative of positions within CACI that are consistently available. Individuals who apply may also be considered for other positions at CACI.
