Broadcast Management Group (BMG) is a leading global broadcast production company providing managed services to major broadcast networks, corporations, and studios. BMG produces live multi-camera news, sports, entertainment, and corporate broadcast productions, leveraging innovative technology at a Network Operations Center and REMI mobile units.

Job Summary:

BMG seeks a Freelance Technical Manager to support remote productions, manage pre‑deployment of equipment, oversee local crew, and ensure quality control for each assignment. The role requires extensive live‑production experience, strong industry connections, client‑facing skills, and willingness to travel on weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as Lead Tech Manager on assigned productions.
  • Directly manage all technical aspects onsite.
  • Ensure a positive BMG experience for clients and vendors.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to venues and clients.
  • Manage arrival of RMUs, shipping, park & power, and internet at each gig.
  • Coordinate with truck drivers regarding arrival/departure times and parking.
  • Pre‑test equipment at BMG warehouse; label and inventory all cases.
  • Unpack and repack all equipment onsite, ensuring correct case assignment and no damage.
  • Check all equipment back into the BMG Homebase, ensuring return in good condition and cleaned.
  • Manage on‑site crew schedules (load‑in, shoot, strike) to minimize overtime.
  • Ensure timely departure of production trucks and equipment.
  • Actively troubleshoot current or future issues.
  • Communicate all aspects of the show with client, crew, talent, producer, director, etc.
  • Collaborate with the EIC to streamline operations.
  • Support all aspects of the show from start to finish.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of relevant live broadcast remote production experience.
  • Production technical management experience.
  • Project management experience.
  • 2+ years working in remote production or on production trucks.
  • Experience managing teams.
  • Experience building schedules and managing deliverables.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Docs.
