The Quality Assurance/ Test Engineer is responsible for planning, executing, and documenting software testing activities to ensure the quality, reliability, and readiness of mission-critical government systems. This role supports the full testing lifecycle, including test planning, test case development, execution, defect tracking, and validation of software releases. The QA/Test Engineer works closely with developers, product managers, and program teams to ensure delivered capabilities meet functional, performance, and compliance requirements.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute quality assurance and test plans in support of software development and release activities.
  • Create, maintain, and execute test cases and test scripts, including functional, integration, regression, and system tests.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects, coordinating with development teams to support resolution and re-testing.
  • Support release readiness assessments, ensuring testing criteria are met prior to deployment.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, providing testing input during sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Support test automation efforts using tools such as Selenium, JMeter, or similar frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain test documentation, metrics, and reports to support program oversight and audits.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Education and Qualifications – Journeyman Level:
    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field
    • Required Experience:
      • Minimum of 5+ years of experience testing web-based applications or software systems.
      • Demonstrated expertise in test case development, regression testing, and test execution.
      • Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JMeter) and defect tracking systems.
      • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
    • Preferred Experience:
      • ISTQB, Agile Tester, or equivalent quality assurance certification.
