Electronic Systems Security Mid-Level Technician

Versar has a unique opportunity for self-motivated security professionals, able to work independently to meet deadlines and response times, and in support of important missions within the Federal Government. Versar requires highly skilled, full-time, professional Mid-Level Security Technician.

• Assist with the design, procurement, logistics, installation, routine maintenance, sustainment, configuration, programming, and lifecycle replacementof
  
  PACS,IDS,VSS,andphysicalsecuritysystemswithinthis contract, as well as the integration of other safety and security subsystems.
• Makesureequipmentisupdatedandoperational,meetingrequired local, state, federal, and ADA requirements.
• Assistwith3rdpartysecuritysystemsintegrationandsoftwareupdates and helps train other personnel in the use of these systems.
• Assists with security assessments, technology upgrades, product selections,testing,fieldverificationofsystemsandinspectionofworkin progress for compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
• Makesrecommendationsforsecurityequipmentandsystems.
• Assists with organization and management of parts stock and tools.
• Assists with issuing, assigning, and removing access rights for access control cards (PIV, non-PIV, visitor, etc.).
• Instruct semployees in the use of systems. Establishes and coordinates alarm codes and keeps a record of those having access to such codes.
• Maintains inventory of essential parts and equipment to ensure repairs and installations in a timely manner.
• Ensure monitoring and timely resolution of service and repair issues. Maintains appropriate records as required.
• Create and run reports for ESS/physical security systems as required.
• Provides onsite ES training of Customer personnel as required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of experience working with security systems to include service and maintenance across a broad spectrum, to also include with one (1) year experience inspecting of PACS, IDS, and VSS.
• Requires a Top-Secret clearance.
• CSEIP (Certified Systems Engineer ICAM PACS) Certified preferred, or MUST be able to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Knowledge and experience of compliance with industry standards, policies, and guidelines such as: physical and electronic security; access and key control; HSPD; NIST SP; FICAM; OMB; and ISC.
• Knowledge of other security disciplines and their relationship to the electronic and physical security program to respond to and troubleshoot system problems.
• Demonstrate the ability to comprehend technical language, read, and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally.
• Demonstrate the ability to exercise considerable judgement and initiative.
• Working knowledge of low voltage systems.
• Working knowledge of network principles.
• Must be proficient in English, both written and verbal, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
• Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.
• Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.
• Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate’s start date.

Expected Salary: $28.37 - $29.81 per hour
