Deskside Support Technician

Compensation: $42.00 - $50.00 hourly. Contractor Work Model:
Onsite. Security Clearance:
Must have an active Secret Clearance.

Location:

Washington, DC (will move to Merrifield, VA eventually – 100% on‑site). Current Secret Clearance required.

Overview

System One is looking for a Deskside Support Technician to support the Enterprise Standard Architecture V (ESA V) program, an IT Services program within the Department of Justice. The program provides a range of IT services, including help desk, deskside support, Windows workstation engineering, managed print services, ITSM, Active Directory services, and video conferencing.

Responsibilities
  • Provide deskside support for users where a ticket has been dispatched from the Service Desk or identified by the on‑site user base.
  • Perform break/fix support for government‑provided end‑user computer devices, such as replacing failing hard drives or batteries.
  • Install specialty software not already packaged in SCCM.
  • Remove devices from the network as directed by Security.
  • Assess issues and diagnose problems with printers, and install printer toner.
  • Interact with customers to resolve problems in a timely manner, prioritizing work based on ticket and customer priority.
  • Provide technical support to senior management and leadership offices within the Department of Justice, including after‑hours service when required.
  • Track all work in the ticketing system and keep tickets updated at all times.
Required Education & Experience
  • High School diploma with 5+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • Customer service‑focused attitude.
  • Current and maintainable Secret clearance.
  • Past experience providing IT (Tier II) support in a Windows office environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with an ITSM ticketing system.
  • Experience resolving issues with a typical office IT environment (Windows 10 laptops/desktops, Microsoft Office, Exchange, Outlook).

  • Past experience with Department of Justice components.
