Senior Business Intelligence Developer

Senior BI Developer (Remote – Preference for DC/MD/VA)

We’re hiring a Senior BI Developer to support and modernize our business intelligence environment.

This role supports both legacy SAP Business Objects systems and our ongoing transition to modern BI tools like Power BI. You’ll work closely with business teams, data engineers, and IT to deliver reliable reporting solutions and help drive our long-term BI strategy.

• Build and test BI solutions end-to-end including ETL pipelines, data models, and dashboards.
• Develop reports and workflows using Power BI and Power Automate.
• Maintain and enhance SAP Business Objects universes, reports, and admin configurations.
• Work with business users to understand reporting needs, especially within Fixed Income.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on design documents, project timelines, and delivery plans.
• Support and train users, troubleshoot BI issues, and ensure timely resolutions.
• Follow change management processes and keep technical documentation current.
• Stay up to date with BI trends and suggest improvements to existing systems.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• 6+ years of overall IT experience.
• 3+ years with:
• SAP Business Objects / SAP Data Services
• Power BI and Power Automate
• Strong SQL skills including batch and real-time data processing.
• Experience with relational databases (Sybase preferred; Postgre
  
  SQL and SQL Server accepted).
• Solid understanding of data modeling (3NF, Star Schema, Snowflake).
• Experience with version control tools (Subversion, Git Lab).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with business stakeholders.
• Able to work independently and support a legacy BI environment as a backfill for a former full-time employee.

• Azure or Databricks experience (our future-state platform).
• Experience supporting both legacy and modern BI platforms.
• Financial services or Fixed Income experience.
