Cybersecurity Data Visualization Specialist- (Washington DC) Position Overview

The Cybersecurity Data Visualization Specialist will support federal cybersecurity programs by transforming complex technical, operational, and risk data into clear, accurate, and actionable visual products. This role focuses on dashboard development, executive-level reporting, infographics, and visual analytics to support cybersecurity awareness, decision-making, and stakeholder communication.

This position supports agency cybersecurity operations, reporting, and governance initiatives by enabling leadership, technical teams, and non-technical stakeholders to understand cyber risk posture, trends, and performance metrics through high-quality visual storytelling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop cybersecurity dashboards, data visualizations, and visual analytics products
  • Translate complex cybersecurity, risk, compliance, and operational data into clear visual formats
  • Create executive-level reporting visuals for leadership briefings and decision support
  • Develop infographics, charts, and graphical summaries for cybersecurity communications and awareness
  • Support reporting related to cyber posture, incident trends, risk indicators, and performance metrics
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity SMEs, analysts, and program stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and relevance
  • Apply best practices in data visualization, UX/UI design, and visual storytelling
  • Ensure compliance with federal branding, accessibility, and communication standards
  • Support reporting tied to training, awareness, and cybersecurity education initiatives
Required Qualifications
  • Experience in data visualization, visual analytics, or digital reporting
  • Experience translating technical data into non-technical visual formats
  • Proficiency with visualization and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent platforms)
  • Strong understanding of data storytelling and information design
  • Ability to work with cybersecurity, IT, or risk-related datasets
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting federal or regulated environments
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity metrics, risk frameworks, or compliance reporting
  • Experience with executive briefing materials and leadership-level reporting
  • Understanding of Section 508 accessibility standards
