WhatYou’ll Do
Groundswell is seeking a highly experienced and motivated SAP Technical Architect to lead the technical design, development, and maintenance of SAP architecture for a Department of Defense (DOD) customer project. As the SAP Technical Architect, you will be responsible for ensuring that all technical architecture aspects of the project related to SAP applications comply with DOD quality standards and contractual requirements, and that project deliverables meet customer expectations.
- Lead and manage the technical design, development, and maintenance of SAP architecture for the DOD customer project.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders, including the DOD customer, project team members, and SAP vendors, to identify technical architecture requirements and ensure that they align with the customer's needs and expectations.
- Design and develop technical architecture for SAP applications, including infrastructure, hardware, and software components.
- Develop and implement technical management policies, procedures, and standards for SAP applications that comply with DOD quality standards and contractual requirements.
- Ensure that all technical architecture documentation related to SAP applications, including plans, reports, and deliverables, comply with DOD quality standards and contractual requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to project team members on SAP technical architecture best practices and procedures.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to promote SAP technical architecture awareness and understanding among project team members.
- Establish and maintain relationships with DOD stakeholders, including the customer, project team members, and SAP vendors, to facilitate effective communication and collaboration on SAP technical architecture matters.
- Develop and maintain SAP technical architecture metrics and reporting to monitor and report on project performance to senior management.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Secret level security clearance. Preference will be given to candidates who possess an active DOD clearance.
- Must have 10+ years of overall SAP experience, including proven experience serving as an SAP Technical Architect on complex DoD or federal programs, leading end‑to‑end architecture planning, technical design, and delivery across integrated SAP environments.
- Must demonstrate the ability to define, govern, and enforce SAP/ERP architecture standards and best practices across large‑scale implementations, ensuring solutions meet DoD security, compliance, scalability, and mission requirements.
- Must have hands‑on experience leading SAP technical design and integration efforts, including producing and reviewing technical documentation, establishing development standards, and driving improvements in system reliability, performance, and flexibility.
- 2+ years Agile software development experience.
- Must have experience with the Information Technology Acquisition process and its milestones.
- This is a remote role with travel as required to support the program (conferences or meetings – expect less than 10%).
- Experience in high‑complexity problem solving and demonstrated knowledge across multiple technical areas and business segments.
- SAP experience in one or more of the following areas:
