SAIC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Windows VMware Administrator to support and maintain our Windows server environment and virtual infrastructure. This role is ideal for an early-career IT professional looking to build hands-on experience in system administration, virtualization, and enterprise infrastructure operations. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of senior system administrators to ensure systems are reliable, secure, and optimized for performance.

Benefits:
Responsibilities- Assist in the administration and maintenance of Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022).
- Support VMware vSphere/ESXi environments, including basic VM provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Perform routine system health checks, patching, and updates.
- Monitor system performance, disk usage, and availability using standard monitoring tools.
- Assist with user account management, group policies, and Active Directory tasks.
- Help troubleshoot hardware, OS, and application-related issues.
- Document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
- Respond to service desk tickets and participate in on-call rotations as required.
- Follow IT security policies and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 0–2 years of experience in a systems administration or IT support role.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust requiring U.S. Citizenship.
- Basic knowledge of Windows Server operating systems.
- Familiarity with VMware vSphere or other virtualization platforms.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP).
- Basic knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Experience with Power Shell scripting (basic level).
- Microsoft 365 and/or Azure fundamentals (AZ-900).
- Backup solutions (Veritas, Cohesity or similar).
- Patch management tools (Bigfix, or similar).
- Microsoft Certified:
Windows Server / Azure Fundamentals, VMware, VCTA or VCP.
Desired:
- Experience with Power Shell scripting (basic level).
- Microsoft 365 and/or Azure fundamentals (AZ-900).
- Backup solutions (Veritas, Cohesity or similar).

Target salary range: $40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
