Systems Engineer - Mid

Overview

Amentum is seeking a Systems Engineer MID to join our team of passionate individuals in Washington, DC. In this role you will support challenging, mission‑critical projects that make a direct impact on the Nation’s security and intelligence mission. The Systems Engineer will lead large‑scale data analysis projects and provide direct support in daily operations on network hardware and operating systems.

• Supervise, coordinate and design, develop and perform additions and changes to network hardware, infrastructure server environments and operating systems.
• Provide direct support in day‑to‑day operations on network hardware and operating systems, including evaluation of system utilization and monitoring response time.
• Troubleshoot at the physical level of the network, working with network measurement hardware and software, as well as logical level testing of hardware devices and communication protocols.
• Participate in planning, design, technical review and implementation for new network infrastructure hardware and operating systems for voice and data communication networks.
• Perform systems management and integration functions, maintain network infrastructure standards and ensure systems are current with approved patches.
• Provide technical consultation, training and support to IT staff and develop SOPs and Quick Reference guides.
• Advise on selection of technological purchases and future projects to management.

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in evaluation, installation, configuration management and user support of hardware and software.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (experience may substitute if qualified).

The base salary range for this position is $138K to $142K. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
