Peraton is currently seeking a Senior SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) for our Federal Strategic Cyber programs.

We are seeking a highly capable and proactive SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize our database infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL Server administration, performance tuning, and backup strategies. Experience with Apache NiFi for data flow automation and integration is highly preferred.

This hybrid role combines core DBA responsibilities with system administration tasks
, requiring a solid understanding of both data and systems to ensure reliability, scalability, and security across our platforms.

• Administer, maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases (2016+).
• Monitor performance, tune queries, and manage indexes and statistics.
• Implement and manage backup, recovery, and high availability strategies.
• Perform system administration tasks including patching, scripting, and server configuration.
• Automate routine tasks using Power Shell or other scripting tools.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support application deployments.
• Ensure database and system security through access controls and auditing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database and server issues in production and non-production environments.
• Document procedures, configurations, and best practices.

• Minimum of 5 years experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • An additional 4 years of experience will be considered in lieu of the degree.
• SQL Server DBA experience.
• Strong proficiency in T-SQL, query optimization, and database design.
• Solid understanding of Windows Server administration.
• Proficiency in Power Shell or other scripting languages.
• Familiarity with backup tools, monitoring systems, and disaster recovery planning.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• A current Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to obtain a polygraph.

• Knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, or SSAS.
• Experience using NiFi for ETL workflows.
• Familiarity with Linux environments.
• Exposure to Dev Ops tools and CI/CD pipelines.

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
