As an Enterprise Sales Engineer, you will partner with our Enterprise Sales team to bring better networks to more customers by using your technical expertise to win over the hearts and minds of IT and network engineers alike.

  • Estimated base salary range: $140,000 - $190,000 per year.
  • Eligible to earn commissions and participate in Meter’s equity plan.

What Success Looks Like

In your first few weeks, you’ll build relationships with the Sales team, peers on the Sales Engineering team, hardware and software product teams, and deployment teams. Those relationships will allow you to establish yourself as a trusted advisor.

You’ll hone networking skills across routing, switching, wireless, and security, becoming a subject‑matter expert across the entire Meter portfolio. You’ll contribute to immediate increases in committed quarterly enterprise revenue by leading technical discovery calls and designing solutions that help the Sales team win deals. You’ll also help build processes and standards, create new assets, and support the team’s growth toward leadership opportunities.

Day‑to‑Day

Overview

About 60% of your day will be spent on deal execution
:

  • Leading technical discovery calls to understand customer pain points.
  • Delivering world‑class demonstrations that inspire and secure buy‑in from stakeholders.
  • Building solutions, removing obstacles, and closing deals.
  • Partnering directly with the Account Executives to create urgency and drive deals forward.

25% of your day will focus on building assets and standards
, such as internal training, sales assets, and standardizing approaches to complex technical use cases.

The remaining 15% of your day will involve product translation
, gathering customer feedback from deployments and translating those requirements into the product roadmap.

You’re tired of selling marginal upgrades on legacy infrastructure and want to help lead innovation with a vertically integrated solution that delivers effortless, resilient connectivity.

You relish building and growing the business with highly motivated technical SEs at a fast pace, and want your voice to shape the company’s trajectory. You excel in networking, constantly devise creative solutions, and eliminate roadblocks so customers can advance into future networking technologies.

Expert knowledge in TCP/IP, 802.11ax/be, TLS, DHCP, DNS, NAT, 802.1X, VPNs, SD‑WAN, IDS/IPS, Multicast, OSPF, BGP & EVPN‑VXLAN is required. Ideal candidates have completed certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CWNA, CWDP, CWSP, CWDE, JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIE, Network+, Security+, etc.
