Location – Washington, DC Metro (Hybrid). Hybrid role with 2–3 days onsite at client locations. Candidates within 25 miles of a DXC office are expected to be on-site two days per week.

Role Overview

The Senior AI SME (Subject Matter Expert) plays a critical role in driving innovation, automation, and intelligent decision-making across the enterprise. This individual is responsible for identifying, designing, and implementing advanced AI/ML capabilities that enhance system performance, optimize HR and payroll processes, and improve user experience. The Senior AI SME collaborates closely with development teams, product owners, and Army stakeholders to assess technical feasibility, ensure compliance with DoD data and cybersecurity standards, and align AI capabilities with mission outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI/ML solutions in large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Architect and implement Generative AI technologies, including OCI Gen AI APIs, LLMs, RAG-based architectures, and Model Context Protocol integration.
  • Embed AI into Dev Sec Ops  pipelines and CI/CD workflows for automation, code generation, and analytics.
  • Build and deploy AI-driven training agents, chatbots, and intelligent automation for HR/payroll and operational processes.
  • Leverage low-code/no-code platforms (e.g., Oracle APEX) for rapid prototyping and deployment of AI solutions.
  • Enable intelligent automation across workflows, ticket triage, and analytics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess technical feasibility and ensure alignment with Army mission objectives.
  • Ensure all AI solutions comply with DoD, Army, and Federal data, security, and audit standards.
  • Mentor and coach technical teams on AI best practices, ethical AI, and responsible AI governance.
  • Optimize software and database performance using AI-driven analytics and SQL tuning.
  • Stay current with emerging AI technologies, trends, and best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Active DOD Secret clearance or eligibility.
  • Extensive experience in AI solutioning and deploying AI/ML solutions in enterprise environments.
  • Hands-on expertise in Generative AI technologies, including OCI Gen AI APIs, LLMs, RAG architectures, and Model Context Protocol integration.
  • Proficiency with low-code/no-code platforms such as Oracle APEX.
  • Strong background in software optimization, SQL tuning, and intelligent analytics tools (e.g., Kibana).
  • Experience embedding AI into Dev Sec Ops  pipelines and CI/CD workflows.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • DOD Secret Clearance and U.S. Citizenship.
  • 5+ years of experience in database administration and management.
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or related field.
  • Certifications in AI/ML, cloud platforms (OCI, Azure), and security.
  • Experience with Army HR/pay processes and enterprise-scale application design.
  • Knowledge of ethical AI, AI governance, and responsible

Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $121,300 - $225,300.
