Database Administrator, Data Engineer
Position: Oracle DBA
Location: Washington DC – Hybrid at the Pentagon (2 days a week onsite)
Duration: 6+ month contract-to-hire
Pay rate range: $55-$62/hr. on W2
Job description –
Seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join our on a program supporting one of our federal client’s financial management processes and systems. In this role, you will support database activities in maintaining multiple Oracle and Postgres databases across multiple environments, both unclassified and classified.
You will support CaaS, Dev Ops, Zero Trust, and custom software development and implementation eff orts
. You will play a key role in supporting a new data tagging eff ort. You will be part of a team where complex problem solving and communication skills are critical to success.

Qualifications:- Candidates must be able to obtain and/or maintain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance as a condition and continuation of employment
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience
- 4+ years’ experience administering Oracle databases
- 4+ years SDLC experience including system requirements definition, and/or development, and/or testing, and/or training
- 2+ years’ experience administering Oracle Web Logic/Fusion Middleware
- Familiarity with Postgre
SQL databases - Familiarity with Cloud database instances
- 8570 IAT Level II certification required (i.e. Security+ CE)
- Direct functional experience with DoD Business systems
- Experience administering DoD financial databases
- Experience with Dev Ops platform (i.e., Azure Dev Ops, Git Lab, Atlassian Suite, Digital.ai)
- Experience with Qlik Sense business analytics tools (i.e., Qlik, Tableau, Power
BI)
- Support day to day Oracle and Postgre
SQL DBA support activities as well as support to special projects including application rehosting migrations. - Assist in managing and maintain multiple Oracle and Postgre
SQL database instances. - Perform installation and upgrade of applications, databases, and tools including patching of technology stack and databases
- Perform patching tasks for keeping all environments current with vendor patches
- Apply database and application performance tuning techniques for keeping all environments at optimal performance
- Support and maintain backup and recovery activities and processes utilizing Oracle RMAN (Recovery Manager).
- Recommend improvements to processes and procedures to increase productivity, reduce maintenance cycles, and improve quality delivery.
- Provide on‑call support to production environments when required, including some weekend support
- Support and maintain password resets for server and database accounts
- Work cooperatively with functional and technical staff, to meet timelines and deliverables
