UI/UX DesignerThe UI/UX Designer is responsible for designing intuitive, accessible, and user-centered interfaces and workflows for mission-critical government applications. This role applies human-centered design principles to translate user needs and functional requirements into effective user experiences across web-based systems. The UI/UX Designer collaborates with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure solutions are usable, compliant with accessibility standards, and aligned with DoD user interface guidelines.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop user interfaces, workflows, and interaction patterns for web-based applications and systems.
- Apply human-centered design and usability best practices to improve user experience and operational efficiency.
- Produce design artifacts including wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and style guides using tools such as Figma or Adobe XD.
- Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (e.g., Section 508, WCAG) and DoD UI/UX guidelines.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into intuitive user experiences.
- Conduct or support usability testing and design reviews, incorporating user feedback into iterative design improvements.
- Support integration of UI designs with development efforts, ensuring fidelity between design intent and implemented solutions.
Minimum Education and Qualifications – Journeyman Level
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, Computer Science, or a related field
- Required Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design, human-centered design, and usability engineering.
- Demonstrated experience creating wireframes, prototypes, and design systems using Figma, Adobe XD, or similar tools.
- Experience designing for accessibility and usability in compliance with Section 508 and WCAG standards.
- Familiarity with DoD or federal UI standards and secure application environments.
- Preferred Experience:
- Experience working in Agile or SAFe environments.
- Agile-related certifications (e.g., SAFe, Scrum).
