Senior Integrator (Contract) – SOC Client

Contract opportunity to work onsite in Washington, DC.

Contract Length: 6+ months, possible conversion to FTE.

Position requires onsite presence 5 days a week in Washington, DC metro area.

Candidate must be a U.S. citizen or green card holder who has resided in the U.S. for at least 3 years and the ability to obtain a public trust.

Job Description

The Senior Integrator provides systems integration and systems administration support for Operations and Maintenance (O&M) and high-level projects. The Windows Server Team handles Windows servers, Active Directory, remote desktop services, OS vulnerability remediation, patching, hypervisor (VMware, Hyper

V) management, server provisioning (on-prem, AWS Gov Cloud, AWS, Azure, Oracle, Google), design and deployment of HA/DR, and support DOT’s field site reduction/migration to Cloud. The team supports and manages Keyfactor/CA, MS Entra, Kite Works, Beyond Trust, Quest Password Manager, Delinea Privilege Manager, Varonis, and multiple technologies.

The candidate supports OCIO initiatives, prevents service degradations, restores service during outages, implements, designs, and supports Windows-based systems across the enterprise, resolves tasks and change requests, escalates support issues, and applies new solutions through research and collaboration.

Job Description and Duties
  • Cover late shift providing support ending sometime between 5pm and 7pm daily.
  • Support server infrastructure in a 24x7 on‑call escalation capacity as part of a team rotation once every 2-3 months.
  • Identify opportunities to innovate, extend, and enhance service delivery everywhere possible including through automation and scripting.
  • Oversee daily system monitoring, verify integrity and availability of hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, review logs, verify scheduled jobs completion.
  • Serve as escalation point for application support and troubleshooting; provide guidance in resolution of escalated issues and complex production, application, or system problems.
  • Provision, patch, and day‑to‑day manage the installed server environment including vulnerability remediation.
  • Provide technical expertise and hands‑on support preventing service degradations and restoring service during outages.
  • Perform root‑cause analysis and problem management for Windows systems and tools.
  • Improve existing processes through solutions to recurring problems and enhancements to documentation.
  • Support new enterprise systems and engineering solutions to address existing issues.
  • Create and maintain system documentation for domain technologies, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting steps.
Required

Education and Experience
  • Experience managing environments of 2000+ servers across multiple field site locations.
  • Experience leading troubleshooting calls spanning multiple teams with a multi‑discipline approach.
  • Extensive knowledge of multi‑vendor server operating systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in all aspects of enterprise Windows environment operations and engineering.
  • MS Server Administration – expert level.
  • Scripting experience: MS Graph/Power Shell and VBScript – expert level.
  • Windows Server Operating Systems (2019 to 2022) – expert level.
  • VMware vSphere and Hyper‑V virtualization – expert level.
  • Active Directory / Entra – senior level.
  • Experience with root‑cause analysis, risk identification, and risk mitigation.
  • Interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience in a fast‑tempo ITSM support environment.

Skills and Qualifications
  • IT Service Management service delivery to the U.S. Government.
  • Microsoft

    Certifications:

    Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Endpoint Administrator Associate, Azure Fundamentals, Azure Administrator Associate, MS365 Certified Administrator Expert.
  • AWS / Azure Cloud Certifications a plus.
  • VMware Certifications a plus.
  • Google Certifications / experience with Google Workspace deployment and implementation.
  • Service Now ITSM platform experience.
  • DISA STIG and CIS Benchmark guidelines for Microsoft Windows servers.
