THE OVERALL PURPOSE OF POSITION:
- The purpose of this position is to develop application and web front-ends based on requirements from Stakeholder Engagement, programs, UX, and designers.
SCOPE OF WORK
- The scope of work includes:
- Supporting critical business functions through the development, implementation, and maintenance of web front ends, including adaptation of COTS products to meet business requirements.
- Creating organizational websites with Word Press framework and front-end development technologies.
- Building reusable code and component/pattern libraries using HTML5, CSS, CSS3, SCSS, JavaScript, React.js.
- Applying skills in front-end development frameworks and processes from UX design to web component delivery.
- Leading and contributing front-end expertise to multiple projects and ensuring specifications are met.
- Utilizing JavaScript frameworks such as Durandal
JS, Angular, Gulp, Webpack, React
JS, AJAX. - Creating accessible forms using ARIA, with client-side form validation (JavaScript).
- Representing the IT department in front-end development in coordination with other departments.
- Using collaboration platforms and code repository controls.
- Building reusable code and libraries for future use.
- Ensuring the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
- Optimizing applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Applying Lean principles, including rapid prototyping for user testing.
- Having a baseline understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms like LESS and SASS.
- Understanding WCAG compliance as it applies to front-end code.
- Possessing basic image editing skills, with familiarity with tools like Gimp or Photoshop.
- Understanding cross-browser compatibility issues and solutions.
- Having a good grasp of SEO principles to ensure application adherence.
- Designing, coding, testing, debugging, maintaining, and documenting web front-end customizations; participating in peer reviews.
- Following established accessibility and W3C standards and procedures, contributing to improvements.
- Collaborating as part of web development teams across the enterprise.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in .NET/SharePoint:
- 4–6 years in Word Press framework and CMS.
- 4–6 years in XML, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, HTML
5. - 3–5 years in Accessibility standards and tools (ARIA).
- 3–5 years in Web Services, React
JS, Angular, Angular2, Webpack, Gulp. - 3–5 years in Bootstrap or similar platform.
- 4–6 years in Technical Documentation.
SPECIAL
SKILLS:
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with solution development ability.
- Leadership in design reviews, code reviews, and technical assessments.
- Innovative thinking for developing new ideas and approaches.
- Ability to develop short-range plans and decisions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
