Visualization and Learning Space Coordinator
The Visualization and Learning Space Coordinator is responsible for overseeing, maintaining, and facilitating the use of technology-rich spaces within Lauinger Library, including the visualization wall in the Visualization and Learning Lab in the Pierce Reading Room. This role combines technical expertise, creativity, and problem-solving to support teaching, research, and public engagement activities for the Library’s high-tech spaces. The position collaborates with Library staff to maintain, provide support for, and enhance the use of Library spaces and services with emerging technology.
The Coordinator provides support through specialized consultations and training, and works closely with Georgetown faculty members and students to incorporate digital scholarship and data visualization methods into teaching and research conducted within the Library.
The Visualization and Learning Space Coordinator is within the Digital Scholarship and Technology Services Department, and reports to the IT Support Manager. They work alongside the IT Support Specialist to support technology-rich computing and media labs throughout the Library. The position collaborates with staff in other Library public services and instructional units to support the use of Library technology spaces, and works with the Georgetown community to facilitate scholarly and creative use of the Library’s visualization wall and other high-tech spaces.
Responsibilities- Oversee, maintain, and facilitate the use of technology-rich spaces within Lauinger Library, including the visualization wall and Visualization and Learning Lab.
- Provide support through specialized consultations and training; collaborate with Library staff and Georgetown faculty and students to incorporate digital scholarship and data visualization in teaching and research.
- Collaborate with Library staff and instructional units to support the effective use of technology for data analysis, visualization, digital media production, and other emerging learning modalities.
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., information technology, computer science, data science, or digital media production), or a bachelor’s degree plus at least 0–2 years of experience in a relevant field
- Demonstrated experience managing technology spaces, services, and/or programs, preferably in a higher education environment
- Strong technical skills in data visualization, graphic design, multimedia content creation, web design, and digital storytelling
- Ability to contribute to complex projects and collaborate with diverse teams and constituencies
- Knowledge of technology trends in an academic setting, including generative AI and emerging technologies
- Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing environments
- Proficiency in diagnosing hardware and software problems and resolving issues
- Flexible, open-minded approach towards evolving responsibilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to fostering an equitable and inclusive workplace and ability to work with a diverse faculty, student, and staff population
- Ability to communicate with users of varying technical skill levels
- Ability to lift and move 20+ lbs of equipment

Pay RangeThe projected salary range is $44,022.00 - $73,406.80. Compensation is determined by candidate qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as university needs.
