Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) invites applications for a HR Generalist to join our Human Resources department. This position is a full-time opportunity based out of Lutherville/Timonium, MD with a hybrid work model.

Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group is comprised of more than 1,700 Permanente physicians and nearly 300 staff professionals who come together to make a positive impact on the health and lives of more than 800,000 members in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.

Reporting to the Associate Physician Human Resources Consultant, the HR Generalist will lead key initiatives and processes that support the full physician employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee relations, offboarding, physician recognition, and employment records administration. The HR Generalist will support the Baltimore Service Area and will be expected to travel to the medical centers in the Baltimore Service Area on an as-needed basis.

You can expect to:

  • Assists with a wide range of HR processes, including licensure and board certification tracking, physician training, performance management, physician compensation activities, and compliance‑related requirements
  • Ensure timely coordination and scheduling of the service area onboarding process, ensuring new physicians receive a welcoming and efficient onboarding experience
  • Meet with new physician hires onsite or virtually as needed, to provide support and a positive onboarding experience
  • Schedule and coordinate the quarterly in‑person or virtual orientations, overseeing all planning logistical details such as invitation letters, presenter coordination, communication, and agenda preparation
  • Administer the full off‑boarding process for departing physicians, ensuring all MAPMG separation procedures are followed accurately and consistently
  • Conduct exit interviews to gather meaningful insights and support continuous improvement across the physician experience
  • Collaborate with HR management systems team to process approved physician status changes, update and maintain accurate electronic employment files, and ensure data integrity
  • Oversee physician recognition initiatives to promote engagement, morale, and a culture of appreciation

What is required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field is required
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of progressive human resources experience is required;
    Healthcare HR experience is preferred
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification is highly preferred
  • Ability to travel locally to medical centers in the region as necessary is required
  • Strong working knowledge of Human Resource Management Systems; UKG strongly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced, time‑sensitive environment
  • Strong customer service orientation with high attention to detail and strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Candidates must either currently live in or be willing to relocate to the Mid-Atlantic States area
  • Must provide documentation of the Covid vaccine 2-dose series (or J&J 1-dose) prior to October 1, 2023, or documentation for 1-dose of the most current Covid vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) as a condition of employment. Must provide documentation for the influenza vaccine as a condition of employment.

The starting annual salary for this position ranges from $70,551.25 to $88,189.06, depending on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, training, market data, and other relevant factors. In addition to the salary range above, MAPMG offers rich benefits that add substantial value to the total compensation package.
