Friendship Public Charter School operates a thriving network of college-preparatory public charter schools. Headquartered in Washington, DC, Friendship serves 4,500+ students in preschool to grade 12 and guides a growing network of alumni to college completion annually. 80% of students come from low-income households. 98% are African American or Latino. As a member of the Recruitment Team, the Talent Acquisition Coordinator plays an integral role in supporting FPCS recruitment and staffing initiatives. The Coordinator recognizes best-in-class talent that demonstrates critical teacher and leadership competencies and screens candidates with reference to the organization’s mission, expectations, and needs. The Talent Acquisition Coordinator is committed to serving the students and ensuring that ALL of our children are exposed to exemplary education professionals.
Salary range: $55,000 - $65,000
Responsibilities- Identify and recruit highly skilled professionals committed to serving in an urban setting, demonstrate proven effectiveness, and subscribe to the organization’s overall mission and educational philosophy
- Support the recruitment of top talent for the organization
- Collaborate with the People Team to ensure accurate and timely staffing of instructional vacancies
- Represent FPCS at recruitment-related events such as interview days, fairs, and networking events to engage with ideal candidates
- Engage with prospects to provide critical information about FPCS teacher and staff expectations
- Coordinate steps in the selection process for assigned candidates
- Conduct phone interviews to screen candidates based on values and skill-related indicators
- Maintain a sense of urgency in recruitment efforts to meet staffing needs and targets on time
- Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to meet the organization’s staffing needs
- You are a proven relationship builder able to communicate expectations with candidates and hiring managers
- You can clearly communicate our school culture and design at interviews, career fairs, and networking events
- You thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment where entrepreneurialism and innovation are valued
- Identify and recruit for specific roles and provide pre-screening of candidates (e.g., Instructional Assistants, Security Officers, Food and Nutrition staff, Extended Learning roles)
- Maintain and update job postings on the ATS and external boards
- Schedule and coordinate phone, virtual, onsite, and group interviews
- Monitor and update job descriptions, postings, and candidate information in the ATS
- Track recruiting indicators and drive sourcing and candidate engagement strategies
- Participate in marketing/communication planning to strengthen the organization’s brand
- Assist with prep work for interview days and webinars (e.g., resume folders, bulk messaging to candidates)
- Other duties as assigned
- Experience in the role preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Highly personable with a strong customer service mindset
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Able to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
- Tech-savvy and comfortable working within systems
- Comfortable communicating with all levels of the organization
- A multitasker who is comfortable wearing many hats
- Experience with iCIMS and recruiting software tools
- Working knowledge and interest in social media tools
