Overview
Keller and Heckman LLP is an internationally recognized law firm headquartered in Washington, D.C. The firm is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to join its administrative team. The Human Resources Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Human Resources Department, which includes the Director of Administrative Operations, Human Resources and Benefits Manager, Human Resources and Recruitment Manager, and Human Resources Assistant.
This role is essential in ensuring efficient HR processes, regulatory compliance, and delivering exceptional service to employees across the firm.
Responsibilities- Facilitate onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a positive experience for new hires and departing employees.
- Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS and other firm systems.
- Administer leave requests for Business Operations team ensuring coverage and compliance.
- Coordinate logistics for firm meetings and events, including catering and invitations.
- Reconcile monthly credit card expenses in expense management system for firm accounts.
- Support HR projects, process improvements, and compliance initiatives, including document management in document management system.
- Assist with candidate scheduling and onsite interview logistics.
- Prepare annual benefits mailings and assist with compliance audits.
- Maintain accurate benefits documentation and vendor account management.
- Verify timesheets in HRIS and assist with payroll processing; serve as backup during absences.
- Provide occasional backup coverage for the reception desk.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- 3 - 5 years of HR experience, including benefits and payroll support.
- HR certifications (PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred; benefits-focused credentials a plus.
- Experience with HRIS systems required;
Paylocity experience strongly preferred;
Workday familiarity a plus. - Law firm experience is a plus.
This role follows a hybrid work model. Hybrid schedules are determined based on role requirements and business needs. Must be local to Washington, D.C. Office.
Compensation and BenefitsThe anticipated salary range for this position is: $65,000 - $85,000, representing the low and high end of the salary range. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, job-related experience, qualifications, and internal alignment. The firm offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, prescription drug, vision, and dental coverage.
