job summary
serves as deputy director, access helpline division, for clinical services administration/department of behavioral health (dbh) under the direction of the director, crisis services. The incumbent is responsible for managing and implementing service authorization and clinical reviews while providing overall guidance and supervision to staff in the access helpline. Responsible for obtaining and ensuring appropriate enrollment and referrals to consumers in need of behavioral health services in the district of columbia.
Makes major decisions and recommendations on program operations, including projects, resources needs and allocation of resources, program changes and shifts in priorities. Identifies and develops long and short-range plans, coordinates activities and resolves major/complex problems encountered in program implementation. Ability to address and resolve immediate crisis situations. Provides clinical quality assurance to staff through documentation review and ongoing training and education of calls.
Provides oversight and guidance to staff by coordinating work to be accomplished, determining and establishing priorities, and monitoring work progress.

qualifications requirementas a basic requirement, all applicants must have successfully completed a four (4) year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelors or higher degree which involved major study in an academic field related to health or allied sciences. This position requires one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the ms-12 level. Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position to be filled which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties.
