The OpportunityThe Opportunity As a One Medical Float Phlebotomist/Administrative Assistant (internally known as Lab Services Specialist/Member Support Specialist) at one of our offices, you’ll provide an exceptional experience for our patients by performing venipuncture and other clinical support services. You will be an ambassador for patients, removing barriers to care and ensuring an in-office experience that is on-brand with the One Medical experience.
You will be the first point of contact for our patients and provide other support as requested by the Practice Coordinator, Operations Manager, or providers.

You combine excellent specimen collection technique with tactful interpersonal skills during every interaction with patients, at both the front desk and in the lab. What You’ll Likely Work On- Use impeccable C-I-CARE (a framework for great interactions) in all patient interactions, ensuring a fluid and positive in-office experience through patient intake, same-day schedule management, appropriate follow-up scheduling, knowledge of billing and insurance, monitoring patient feedback and assisting with outreach as necessary
- Provide best-in-class venipuncture services for a patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics
- Perform and assist with extended scope duties such as non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs
- Maintain high standards of in-office care through proper specimen labeling, handling and processing, inventory upkeep, and tool sterilization
- Support members beyond the lab by answering patient messages, following up on lab cases and assisting providers and the virtual medical team with clerical duties (e.g., biometric screening forms, medical records and consult review, billing inquiries, DOH reporting)
- Handle front-of-house duties including check-in/check-out, insurance verification, printing/paperwork tasks, prepping tests, and service-level tasking
- Contribute to team development through rounding, team huddles, problem solving, and supporting in-office providers with ad hoc asks
- Perform opening and closing duties and daily office upkeep, including maintaining look and feel of spaces, restocking supplies and organization
- Master our technology suite (Slack, GSuite, Zoom, Circulation, Ring Central, and the Electronic Medical Record System) to interact with team members and complete daily work

What You’ll Need- At least 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist outside of training/externship
