Workforce Pathways Professional – Performance & Quality Improvement

The Office of Policy, Planning, & Evaluation (OPPE) is dedicated to ensuring that public health programs in Washington are effective, data-driven, and accessible to all communities. Through the Workforce Pathways Program, we are building a diverse, skilled public health workforce by fostering professional growth and development.

As a Program Specialist, you will play a key role in strengthening the agency’s performance management and quality improvement efforts. You will help teams across the agency measure and improve their impact, ensuring public health programs are responsive, efficient, and aligned with Washington’s Transformational Plan. By training staff in Results-Based Accountability (RBA) and supporting the implementation of the Performance Scorecard, you will contribute to a culture of continuous learning and innovation in public health.

By providing training and technical assistance, you will empower teams across the agency to improve program effectiveness and enhance public health outcomes for Washington communities.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Becoming proficient in Results-Based Accountability (RBA) and earning certification.
  • Leading training sessions on RBA and performance measurement for staff across the agency.
  • Providing technical assistance to teams developing and refining program performance measures.
  • Assisting in the implementation of a quality improvement process aligned with the agency’s Performance Scorecard.
  • Conducting data entry and system administration support for the performance management system.
  • Researching and analyzing best practices to develop a Quality Improvement Strategic Plan for the agency.
  • Contributing to reports and recommendations that support the Workforce Pathways Program’s sustainability and impact.
