Summary:
Founded in 1824, the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS) is the 11th oldest medical school in the country and the first in the nation’s capital. Since its establishment, the school has been at the forefront of medical education and has grown to include highly ranked programs in the health and biomedical sciences. The laboratory of Prof. Bethea is in search of 2 highly motivated Postdoctoral Associates.
The Bethea laboratory works on neuroimmune mechanisms of CNS injury and repair with the ultimate goal of developing new therapies for chronic pain and other neurodegenerative disorders. These individuals will work with our team in both spinal cord injury and peripheral nerve injury models of chronic pain. They will be responsible for leading independent studies analyzing sex-specific mechanisms of chronic pain and investigating therapeutic targets.
Responsibilities/expectations include but are not limited to:

Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires a Ph.D. in public health or a related field (e.g., epidemiology, biostatistics, data science, etc.). A strong background in quantitative/qualitative methodology, writing, and engagement in self-directed and guided research are required. Ability to meet deadlines and efficiently multitask is also required.

Hiring Range: $61,008 - $95,000
