Overview
The Fitzhugh Mullan Institute for Health Workforce Equity, in the Milken Institute School of Public Health at the George Washington University, is seeking a Senior Fellows Lead for the Atlantic Fellows for Health Equity program (AFHE). The AFHE is a one-year fellowship program designed to develop global leaders who understand health inequity and disparities and can build more just organizations and communities.
AFHE offers immersive learning experiences through community engagement and an intentional curriculum to build people power. After the fellowship year, fellows become Senior Fellows and join a global alumni network. The Senior Fellows Lead will manage and strengthen the global network of AFHE Senior Fellows and support program operations, evaluation, and engagement strategies. The ideal candidate will have strong networking and relational skills, program management, communications, and research skills, with a passion for health equity.
- Research, Program Evaluation, and Impact Tracking
- Manage Salesforce interface, including data collection, storage, reports and dashboards.
- Collaborate with Salesforce consultants to meet program needs. Collaborate with the program team to improve program monitoring, evaluation, and analysis.
- Administer the annual Senior Fellows survey, including data collection and qualitative analysis.
- Track alumni engagement and contributions to health equity work.
- Support the drafting of annual evaluation and impact reports.
- Program development and operational support.
- Collaborate with the Program Director, Faculty, and Senior Fellows Advisory Board on program design.
- Help develop and maintain a network of expert facilitators, speakers, and collaborators for alumni-focused programming.
- Participate in weekly team meetings and assist in planning and execution of program activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Senior Fellows Engagement and Community Building
- Lead and support efforts to build a vibrant, lifelong community of Senior Fellows.
- Design and implement programs and initiatives that strengthen alumni engagement.
- Lead and oversee senior fellow programming including annual convenings, online workshops and webinars.
- Develop virtual learning and engagement opportunities for alumni.
- Manage coaching, mentorship, and peer-learning initiatives within the Senior Fellows community.
- Co-create new Senior Fellow engagement strategies with the Program Director.
- Showcase Senior Fellows' impact through communications products, including social media, publications, and videos.
- Strategize on communicating the success and impact of the fellowship to potential stakeholders and funders.
- Program Management
- Develop and implement project plans for the Senior Fellows convenings, delegate tasks to program staff, and manage convening timelines.
- Review fellow participation and engagement, and respond to fellows' individual needs in collaboration with program leadership.
- Collaborate with program leadership to review convening contracts and work with facilitators and external consultants to execute event logistics.
- Review convening strategy and planning with staff, and revise plans based on feedback.
Qualified candidates will hold a BA/BS in a related discipline plus 5 years of relevant professional experience OR a Master’s in a related discipline plus 3 years of relevant professional experience. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.
Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree in a related field
- Three+ years of relevant professional experience preferred
- Experience designing and implementing programs and initiatives that strengthen alumni engagement, including front-facing relationship development
- Deep understanding of the root causes of health and social inequities with a demonstrated commitment to health equity
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to produce content for diverse audiences (a writing sample will be required)
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-cultural teams
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Self-starter with initiative, resourcefulness, and adaptability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant digital platforms
- Experience in convening/events within global environments (including partner/speaker identification and site visits)
- Passionate about social change and engaged in health equity work with a dynamic, global network of leaders
