Overview

Med Star Health is looking for a Senior MRI Technologist to join our team at Med Star Georgetown University Hospital.

Schedule:

Saturday and Sundays 7:00am – 7:30pm.

Responsibilities
  • Performs full range of MR imaging procedures in a timely manner on all patient types as specified by protocol. The ability to perform venipuncture, the injection of contrast media, and non-narcotic medication required for effective diagnostic imaging and scanning. Must adhere to the direction, policy and procedures as defined by physician modality director. Strict adherence to research guidelines for studies performed on patients participating in research studies.
  • Operates MR IV Pumps and Monitors to assist nursing and anesthesia staff. Performs independently in accordance with policies and procedures for Advanced MR studies including Cardiac MR, Full Body MR, MR Spectroscopy, TWIST imaging, NATIVE sequences, MR Lymphangiography, Dynamic studies of the pelvic floor, MR Urography, MR Runoff, Functional MRI, Placental imaging, Liver Lab, and MR guided procedures such as Breast Biopsy.

    Includes administration of rectal and vaginal contrast agents when indicated. Conducts weekly QA phantoms and logs data as required by the American College of Radiology.
  • Acts as charge technologist on a routine basis and assists the modality supervisor to optimize patient flow. Trains and develops other MR technologists as needed. Provides information to patients/families about procedures and answers questions when asked.
  • Maintains MR equipment and adheres to safety requirements. Enforces MR Safety standards and practices. Monitors equipment, analyzes potential malfunctions, contacts Biomedical Engineering, and logs tickets for repairs.
  • Ensures timely completion of exams through RIS/ERS/EMR workflow. Coordinates with Technical Aides to ensure efficient room turnover and works with Patient Financial Associates to register radiology exams and minimize delays and safety issues for outpatient populations.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiology Technology program (ARRT) with advanced certification in MR.
  • Minimum of 3 years  experience in MRI in a hospital-based setting.
  • Registered Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT) with advanced certification in MR or ARRT.
  • CPR certification.
  • Must comply with ARRT or ARMRIT Rules and Regulations and Standards of Ethics.
  • Associate degree preferred.

This position has a hiring range of USD $42.82 - USD $78.27 /Hr.
