POSITION SUMMARY
- Fulfills the needs of patients, families, and community by providing Occupational Therapy services in accordance with his/her licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements. Responds effectively to new and changing work assignments. Seeking an Occupational Therapist with a passion for treating the lymphedema and oncology population. In this role, the Occupational Therapist will treat patients with general lymphedema conditions as well as lymphedema due to cancer.
- Evaluates selected diagnoses accurately using basic techniques in acute care and rehabilitation. Ask for clarification of orders from physicians, and request consultation from other OTs as needed. Consider all aspects of the patients needs including the physical, psychosocial, developmental, and cultural.
- Develops and implements treatment plans using appropriate problem-solving skill, and clinical reasoning.
- Documents evaluations, progress notes and discharge notes in a clear and concise manner, consistent with department policies and KOTA/AOTA.
- Supervises Level 1 students independently. Supervises level 2 students after one of clinical experiences, with assistance from the Student Coordinator as needed.
- Meets all District of Columbia requirements for continuing education. Maintains current CPR certification. Follow all departmental procedures.
- Demonstrates good rapport with patients and professionalism with other professionals, patients, and visitors.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
