Job Summary:

Med Star Health is looking for a Transporter to join our team at Med Star Georgetown  University Hospital!

As aTransporter, you willescort patients and transport items between patient units and ancillary departments. These functions are performed in accordance withall applicable laws and regulations and Med Star Georgetown's philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.

Primary Duties:

• Obtains supplies/equipment/medications, as needed, from appropriate departments and transports to nursing units. Obtains "STAT" medications from Pharmacy and delivers to nursing units.

• Assistsnursing staff getting patients into chairs/beds/stretchers, and escorts/transports patients to and from ancillary departments. Responds to all "Codes" as assigned to transport and obtain requests for supplies, medications, etc.

• Transport specimens to appropriate laboratory.
  
  Utilizes communication devices (bellboy, walkie-talkie) to respond to requests for service, and alwaysmaintainsall devices in proper working condition.

• Communicates appropriate information to patients, staff, and visitors.

• Maintains a safe environment for patients during all phases of transportation. Exemplifies Guest and Staff Relations standards in all activities.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Previoushospital or patient care experience preferred.

This position has a hiring range of $18.75 - $18.77
