CT Technologist

Under the direction of the Department Director/Manager/CT Lead, the Computed Tomography Technologist is responsible for producing quality diagnostic images of human anatomy and vascular structures following prescribed protocols.

Responsibilities
  • Performs examinations in a proficient, courteous, and professional manner to promote the facility’s services.
  • Complete ancillary tasks to support efficient and consistent departmental operations.
  • Demonstrate radiation protection/safety for patients, staff, and self in accordance with department protocols and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain equipment, exam rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition.
  • Communicate effectively: read, analyze, and interpret general business and technical information; present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Apply problem-solving skills to carry out instructions and address practical issues using standard guidance.
  • Comply with regulatory bodies such as The Joint Commission and American College of Radiology (ACR) and Title 22 standards and guidelines.
  • Adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to clinical personnel, medical staff, and the public.
  • Conduct CT exams independently and follow physician’s orders.
  • Assess IV patency prior to injections and verify relevant lab values when pulling related exams for radiologist review.

Qualifications
  • High School Graduate or equivalent required.
  • Diploma from a certified school of radiologic technology.
  • Minimum one-year experience as a registered Computed Tomography Technologist required; acute care experience preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR Certification through the American Heart Association required.
  • Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (CT) license required.
