The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is responsible for supporting the Physical Therapist in delivering high-quality rehabilitation services, focusing on patient care and recovery.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting in conducting patient assessments and developing individualized treatment plans.
• Implementing therapy interventions to improve mobility, strength, and independence under the direction of the Physical Therapist.
• Monitoring patient progress and reporting changes to the Physical Therapist.
• Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
• Providing education to patients and families on therapy goals and rehabilitation strategies.
• Ensuring compliance with documentation, facility policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Participating in facility meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and survey preparedness.
• Maintaining accurate patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

• Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
• Current and valid PTA license/certification.
• Experience working with adult/geriatric populations preferred.
• Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and patient care skills.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including patient transfers, equipment handling, and extended periods of standing/walking.
