Position Summary/ResponsibilitiesThe Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is responsible for supporting the Physical Therapist in delivering high-quality rehabilitation services, focusing on patient care and recovery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in conducting patient assessments and developing individualized treatment plans.
- Implementing therapy interventions to improve mobility, strength, and independence under the direction of the Physical Therapist.
- Monitoring patient progress and reporting changes to the Physical Therapist.
- Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
- Providing education to patients and families on therapy goals and rehabilitation strategies.
- Ensuring compliance with documentation, facility policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Participating in facility meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and survey preparedness.
- Maintaining accurate patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
- Current and valid PTA license/certification.
- Experience working with adult/geriatric populations preferred.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and patient care skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including patient transfers, equipment handling, and extended periods of standing/walking.
