Clinical Pharmacist - Part time (20 hrs/week)
Children's National Hospital is looking for a Clinical Pharmacist to work 20 hours per week in the Washington DC–Baltimore area.
Pay Range: $ – $ per year (based on skills and experience).
Responsibilities- Interpret medication orders, profile orders and oversee packaging, labeling, and distribution of medications.
- Perform drug therapy monitoring and intervene on drug dosing, administration, interactions, side‑effects, and monitoring issues; complete therapeutic drug monitoring consults and adverse drug reaction reports as assigned.
- Provide accurate, timely drug information to physicians, nurses and other health professionals.
- Interpret research medication orders, ensure accurate preparation of investigational drugs and maintain complete, accurate records.
- Maintain proficiencies in medication handling (including hazardous medications), compounding sterile/non‑sterile preparations, and completing QA checks per SOPs, USP and guidelines.
- Oversee the work of Pharmacy Technicians, direct and assist as necessary to ensure rapid medication order turn‑around.
- Assist with the education, training and general supervision of Pharmacy Residents, Students and Technicians.
- Speak up when team members exhibit unsafe behavior or performance; continuously validate and verify information needed for decision making or documentation; stop in the face of uncertainty and take time to resolve the situation; promote safety for patients, families, visitors and co‑workers.
- Demonstrate accurate, clear, and timely verbal and written communication; attend carefully to important details (Stop, Think, Act and Review).
- Demonstrate collaborative and respectful behavior; partner with all team members to achieve goals; receptive to others’ ideas and opinions.
- Contribute to a positive work environment; demonstrate flexibility and willingness to change; identify opportunities to improve clinical and administrative processes.
- Use resources efficiently; search for less costly ways of doing things.
- Completion of a five‑year pharmacy program in an accredited college of pharmacy (required).
- Minimum one year of pharmacy experience (required).
