Advanced Clinical Therapist (Child Protection Center)
Join to apply for the Advanced Clinical Therapist (Child Protection Center) role at Children's National Hospital.
Pay Range$75,566.40 per year – $ per year (actual pay based on skills and experience).
Responsibilities- Provide independent clinical practice, including individual, family, and group psychotherapy with children, youths, and their parents.
- Deliver crisis counseling to maltreated children and youth and those exposed to domestic violence.
- Offer trauma‑specific therapeutic services to children exposed to domestic violence and their non‑offending parent survivors.
- Treat youth with problematic sexual behaviors and adolescents with histories of sexual offending.
- Perform evaluation and assessment of children/adolescents mental health needs, including psychiatric diagnoses and treatment recommendations.
- Make referrals for services as indicated and collaborate with attending psychologist on child/adolescent functioning and progress.
- Provide crisis stabilization and management as part of the multidisciplinary child protection team.
- Monitor and communicate medication impacts to treatment team psychiatrist.
- Complete electronic documentation accurately and timely.
- Stay current with evidence‑based treatment modalities through continuing education and seminars.
- Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Counseling (PhD or PsyD) or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ clinical experience.
- Licensed Psychologist OR Licensed Clinical Social Worker OR Licensed Professional Counselor in Washington, DC (upon hire).
- Proficiency in diagnosing and treating children, adolescents, and families, including evidence‑based interventions.
- Experience with crisis intervention and child and adult treatment modalities.
- Knowledge of acute psychiatric intervention, domestic violence, trauma, child maltreatment, and protective services.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills (bilingual applicants encouraged).
- Ability to work in emotionally charged settings and collaborate with law enforcement, judicial, social services, mental health, and medical systems.
- High energy, commitment to child welfare, and availability for consultation and expert testimony.
- Full‑time, day shift, Monday‑Friday.
